ABOUT ME: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy For Children, ADOLESCENTS, ADULTS and FAMILIES

Kimberly Nofi is a Psychiatric Social Worker (LMSW), Certified Holistic Health and Coach (CHHC),  Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT) and Advocate and Task Force member of the Coalition of Caring (substance abuse community prevention).  Kimberly received her Bachelors degree from Hofstra University and pursued her Master degree in Social Work at Adelphi University in Clinical Social Work.

I grew up in Long Island, New York attending undergraduate and graduate school here. Professionally, I have had diverse experiences that allow me to help people cope as they negotiate changes in their life.  

Common areas of practice include: Holistic Counseling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Families dealing with different issues. I employ many techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals with: Anxiety, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Behaviors, Depression, ADHD/ADD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Eating Disorders. 

My clinical experience includes working with a diverse populations in various settings.  I have worked with individuals, groups, families, and children who have experienced trauma. We worked together utilizing mindfulness and stress reducing techniques to help address concerns around peer relationships, self-esteem, body image issues, anxiety, and the enhancement of individual and family relationships. I believe it is vital to create a safe space for individuals to help them make safer decisions, while assisting them to have more gratifying experiences and maintaining strong connections to their families.  

Some of the techniques I employ in my practice include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  Mindfulness and Yoga, Exposure Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) approaches.
Specialized training: suicide prevention, self-mutilation, mindfulness and crisis prevention

Through my career, I have acquired an eclectic practice approach that uses various models and modalities tailored to the individual in the therapeutic setting. I believes that utilizing a variety of tools and approaches allows for individualized treatment and success!
